It’s that time of year again! The Doug Haynes Fine Art family welcomes the new year and wishes all of you a great 2020!
January 1st was also the day Douglas Haynes was born. As a way to welcome the New Year and remember a great friend and artist, please share your memories of Doug with us. Were you a colleague? Friend? Student? Did Doug help to shape your art or your life in some way? Let’s hear your fondest memories or most memorable moments with him.

For the month of November, Douglas Haynes Fine Art is featuring After Manolete #3 from 2006. Doug completed a number of “Manolete Series” from 2002-2006 consisting mostly of works on paper, with the "After Manolete” series on canvas.

Monthly Feature- August
Our August monthly feature is from the works on paper series “Panajachel”, which was Douglas Haynes’ final collection from 2015.
This series was a “rebirth” of sorts for the artist, who had taken a break from releasing new works for a number of years prior. The “Panajachel” series has very strong roots in Spanish history, a passion and strong inspiration for Doug and his art.

Monthly Feature- April
April’s monthly feature is Hussar’s Rich Blue (2008). Doug Haynes created a small collection of Hussar’s between 2007-2008, all larger scale paintings inspired by Spain’s history.
This piece is currently at the Scott Gallery in Edmonton, AB.
There are also a select number of Hussar’s at Paul Kuhn Gallery in Calgary, AB.
